Johanna Gieseler designs 3D printed riding prosthetics for children.
The opportunity to ride a bicycle with two hands shouldn’t be kept from anybody, especially children. This project by Johanna featured on Designboom is a great example of how low cost, desktop 3D Printing can allow a child to access a custom made prosthetic to allow them to have a functional prosthetic in this case to aid the ability to learn how to ride a bicycle.
With the open nature of cad design and 3D printing, custom designs can easily be incorporated to make the prosthetic more fun and appealing to the younger uses, Johanna shows this with a variation of fun designs.
